Scripting
A script is a program that is executed by another program and not by a computer's processor. The term is also used for a list of command lines that are saved in a file.
Today, the most well-known scripting languages are Perl, Java script, ASP, Tcl/Tk, JScript, PHP, ActionScript and VBS.
The main application field of scripts lies in the client-server environment, where some scripts are executed on the server side and others are sent to the client.
Scripts are important for presentation and editting of data from a database. These data
is sent together with separate layout-files and/or objects, so that many combinations become possible. Scripts can also provide in advanced user interaction such as verification, calculation, if-else scenario's etcetera.
